Communist Voice
a magazine of revolutionary theory
Communist Voice -- the successor to the Workers' Advocate -- works for the rebirth of
communism by fighting for anti-revisionist Marxism-Leninism. It opposes both market
capitalism and the state-capitalist regimes (such as Cuba or China today or Russia and most of
Eastern Europe yesterday) which falsely call themselves socialist or communist. It deals with the
world crisis of revolutionary theory, analyzes what happened to the revolutionary movements of
the past, and opposes Stalinism, Trotskyism, anarchism and reformism. The day will come when
revolutionary communism is once again the banner of the militant proletariat in struggle for its
liberation.

What's new
- The August 20, 2008 issue of Communist Voice has now appeared, and the full text of all its
articles is posted here.
- On the elections: against the free-market agendas of McCain and Obama -- Detroit Workers'
Voice #75, August 12, 2008
- CVO's Frank Arango and FSP's Kathleen Merrigan continue the debate over whether to
support the Iraqi people against both imperialism and fundamentalism, or to follow the FSP's
stand of allying with fundamentalism in the name of backing the Iraqi resistance. Frank
Arango exposes FSP's attempt to "have it both ways in the class struggle" -- "to support
valiant women and working class organizers in Iraq, and at the same time support forces that
suppress and murder them". Read Arango's statement of July 11 and Merrigan's of April 30.
- New historical articles have been added to the site under the new subject headings "History of
the CPUSA", "Militant united front tactics vs. the 7th Congress of the Comintern", and "The
black national question in the U.S." See under "Past articles by subject".
- Shame on the UAW leadership! The American Axle strike is over. The workers struck
against outrageous wage cuts and other concessions demanded by AAM management. They
held out defiantly for three months, but the sell-out UAW leadership had agreed to most of
AAM's demands from the start. A wage-cutting contract was forced on the workers by the
collaboration of the UAW national leadership and AAM. Despite this conclusion, the
sacrifices of the AAM strikers has not been for naught. They will be remembered. But the
outcome of the strike shows the need for workers to have independent rank-and-file
organization, committed to the class struggle, that can stand up to the sell-out business
unionism of the dominant leadership of the present-day unions. For the issues in the strike,
see:
--reject the wage-cutting contract! (Detroit Workers' Voice #74, May 17, 2008)
--Support the American Axle strikers! Detroit Workers' Voice #72, March 20, 2008.
For more about how the UAW leadership has been bowing down to the auto companies, see
--The sellout unionism of the UAW leadership and the class strugle alternative (Communist
Voice, February, 2008).
- But it's not just today that the UAW national leadership sabotages strikes, they were also
doing it back in the days of its formation. It was not the business unionist leaders, but the
combination of a mass upsurge and rank-and-file organization that led to the successful
sit-down strikes of the 1930s. See:
--The CPUSA'S work in auto and the change in line of the mid-1930's
- Workers of all nationalities, support full rights for all immigrant workers! (Detroit Workers'
Voice #73, May 1, 2008)
- More on the cooperative anarchism of Ben Seattle, planning,
and the role of the proletarian party:
Eric replies to Ben Seattle, April 14, 2008.

movement; the Trotskyist FSP glorifies fundamentalism in Iraq; on the tasks of Leninism on
the 90th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution; and a reply to Ben Seattle on his proposal to
replace "socialism" with "proletarism".
- Detroit Workers' Voice #71: Presidential candidates in the pocket of the private health
insurers: private insurance can't bring universal coverage (January 15, 2008)
