Thanks for the info Andy. I dropped her an email. Hopefully she'll have something that looks like an original. It's really too bad that Fender is sending out crappy replacements, and trying to shut people selling repros down. If they provided decent repros there wouldn't be as much of a demand.
I also don't like the way the instrument has to documented by a Fender technician. They should let customers send in the pictures and keep the serial number on file. That way if they receive a request for the instrument again they can get suspicious. It seems like they've created a very lucrative business for counterfeiters.
