Introduction

This game is mostly non-linear (i.e. the order of accomplishment is unimportant). When you first begin, sell all your body parts. You can get along just fine without them for now, and it gives you enough to get a half way decent deck. You'll eventually need to buy them back before you start entering cyberspace, or you'll be easily killed. SAVE YOUR GAME OFTEN. The game isn't easy and you'll die, and you don't want that to happen with too many successful moves unsaved.

Solution

Go to the Pax and withdraw $2,000. Send a letter to Armitage that contains your bank account number (056306118). Withdraw the $10,000 he sends you. Pay and leave the bar. Go to the body shop and sell all your body parts. Go to Shin's and don't pay for the deck because he gives it back to you free. Go to the Regular Fellows Club and ask for an implant chip and a pass. Link to CHEAPO. The 2nd level password is COCKROACH. Edit the bill, order caviar, edit the bill again. Get caviar and take it to Edo. Get the comlink 2.0 and erase comlink 1.0 (you need the space). Go to the software place and buy a joystick. Go to the House of Pong and give the joystick. Get zen and sophistry implants.

Go back to the hotel and link to REGFELLOW as a visitor, WORLDCHESS as a novice and member, and play a couple of chess games with chess master 2.0 for more cash. After you beat worldchess with logic, your logic skill should go up to 2. Get the software from regfellow. Now leave the room for comlink 3.0. Link to CHAO (mainline) and get 3.0. Delete 2.0 and get more software, etc. Go to the place opposite Maas biolabs and buy all the chips except for bargaining. Go to the restaurant and buy chips. Implant all the chips.

Go to Larry Moe and buy coptalk. Use coptalk at Donut World to find the link code for the police. It's KEISATSU (Japanese for police station, how clever). Get warrants and supertac area password. Edit warrant and then arrest Larry Moe (062788138). Go to place behind Larry Moe's and get evade chip and security pass.

Perform the following four links in the correct order (which may not be the order specified) to go from comlink 3.0 to comlink 6.0.

Using the same deck all this time (DON'T buy another deck when doing all this, a new deck comes later), log in to BOZOBANK. Use sequencer 1.0. Get in and open account: 712345450134. Link to BANKGEMEIN (eintritt, verboten). Embezzle from account number: 646328356481 to Bozobank account.

Go buy Cyberspace Vii deck and load up on any type of software you can. Perhaps the best you can do is drill 1.0, decoder 2.0, and blowtorch 3.0. Scout's ok. It's for fun really. Go to Zone 0 and break into Panther moderns (224,112) and get Cyberspace 1.0 and better software. Leave cyberspace and use Cyberspace 1.0 from now on. To get into cyberspace, hit Other places if you wish. Stay away from Psychologist (96,32) and World Chess (160,80) for now as AI's in there.

Go to the Regular Fellows Club. In zone 1, hit Copenhagen U (very important - good ice breakers, also updates thunderhead (virus program from panther, maybe). Load on software and hit other places if you want. Stay away from the Free Matrix (352.112) and NASA (448,32), AI's again. Notice that your ICE BREAKING skill goes up every time you beat a new zone. Also, be sure to use that ability and evade everything you attack. Yes, there is a way to slow down the attack of the DB ICE. There's a program called slow 1.0, and also slow 2.0, found in the higher zones that allow you to slow down the ice. There's also one that permits healing of ICE damage. Hmm. Now this is where it got kind of foggy for the original author, who couldn't quite remember exactly what to do...

Link to one of the high tech companies (maybe Hosaka) and edit the employee files, putting yourself as an employee. Go get salary. Use the link in there to zone 2 3 or 4 (the original author wasn't sure). If it's 2, then do zone 2. Stay away from Musabori (268,208), which is the third strongest AI in there (maybe). Anyway, continuing on, if the above is 2, go to the other free link and get on the shuttle and return to the Bank of Berne. Get rid of the secretary and use the link in the office. It should be to 3 or 4. If it's 3, go to Screaming Fist (464,160) and get easy rider 1.0 (very important, allows you to cross into any zone and kill others). Stay away from Free Sex Union (288,208) and Bank of Berne (336,160) because of AI's (maybe).

Return to the hotel. You can cross into any zone using easy rider now, so any link will do. Go to Zone 4. Access Sense/Net and Gridpoint. Break in, all this time SAVING the game and loading up on good software, etc. Continue to zone 5 and kill. There are no AI's in 4 or 5. Go to zone 6. Maas Biolabs and KGB both have AI's (maybe), so there must have been something wrong with the original author's memory somewhere... check around, and somehow you're supposed to get into Maas's link. Go there, unlock the front door and go back to Chiba city. Buy a gas mask from the opposite place and go in to Maas. Get the cybereyes, which allows much many programs than cyberspace Vii. Get the ROM construct from the place in the south end of Chiba City High Tech Center. Use security pass and get dixie flatline, 34689775642358885. Carry her along as she tells you where AI's are, and helps out a little. The original author actually didn't use it much, but still...

Now, you're ready to take on the Ai's. Start in Zone 0 or ? Either one. Dixie will help you locate them. Break through ice and when AI appears, use SKILLS. No chips, no skills, no way. Example: World Chess: use Logic skill. Psycho: Philosophy skill. The others are left up to you, the original author didn't have all of them written down, although most are logic. Also notice that every time you kill an AI, your skill goes up.

Continue, zones: 1, 2 (stay away from Musabori in Zone 2. He's Greystoke, the third most powerful AI), 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. Save Game at all times. Do read some of the messages on the AI as it adds a lot to the game. The last three AI's are the fun part. First do Musabori. Read up on the stuff. Next in Zone 7 Tessier-Ashpool, our friend Wintermute, and finally Zone 7, Allard Tech, our favorite AI Neuromancer. Save your game as the end is sort of tricky. Be sure to watch everything that happens with these three AI's, oh, the other AI in zone 7 is killable before the three mentioned above, but it is harder to do so. Kill all 11 AI's and you WIN.
