What is the List?

The 3rd Generation list is a collection of 1982-1992 Camaro and Firebird owners that have subscribed to one of the many e-mail lists hosted by www.f-body.org

The goal of this list is to provide a convenient cross-reference to subscribers. Since we all have at least two common interests (our F-body cars and the internet) I thought this would be a handy way to check out other subscriber's rides.

Why can't I subscribe to the E-Mail list?

If you read the instructions/FAQ on www.f-body.org then you should have caught the notice that some domains (like AOL and Juno) have been banned by Rob Glover for technical reasons. I can't do anything about that. I can suggest a polite e-mail to Rob requesting a subscription to the digest version of the e-mail list. You can also raise hell with your internet provider asking that they solve the technical problem in the first place! There is a lot of e-mail traffic on the lists, and it will overrun the limits imposed by your provider if you don't retrieve your mail EVERY DAY.

When will I see my car listed?

Usually within 7 days of sending me an E-mail with all the required information, I will add your entry to the list.

How do I get a web page for my car?

I don't provide web space for anything other than my own info and the list pages. If your internet provide does not supply you with web space (or changes you for it) may I suggest checking out www.geocities.com as an alternative. They give away a limited amount of web space for personal pages, including a dedicated area for automotive pages. As you can see by the list, many subscribers have availed themselves of this service.

Will I get bombarded with SPAM mail?

I sincerely hope not. The information you give me will be posted in the list and nothing else. However, cyberspace is difficult to control and populated with "marketing" types. I will not give the database away or sell it to anyone, but it is free to anyone to look at and use.

Technical Stuff and Thanks

The list itself is written by yours truly (well with a execellant start from Curt Martin).  Thanks to Rob Glover for aid in setting up the 3rd Generation Owners List.

Curt Marin,  revised by Adam Billing, 05/28/98 and 10/17/99.
