Although I've collected a ton of parts I haven't been able to use them all just yet, so I won't have any comments on performance. Except....the Kenny Brown Sub-Frame connectors. I love'em.
Pros: Multiple weld-in points for more stiffness, don't hang down at all, tubular, did wonders for the ragtop, stiffens the LCA connecting point. Took about 3 hrs for the shop to put them in. No modification was needed to get them to work, they didn't even drop the cat.
Cons: Price!! usually around $230 (I paid $150 new, thanks again Tom P!!), cost to put them in if you don't have access to welder ($150)
There's some pics on my page of the before and after and during installation process, feel free to use some for the FAQ. I also have plenty more pics on my page of various parts I have, I try to take pictures of everything as i install them. I, like Andris, have found a lot of my parts used and have saved some $$.
Extrude honed and ported base $100
Accell LTR's $150 (w/ Hartman airfoil
thrown in)
Edelbrock TES $100
Ported plenum (free)
52mm TB to be coming from the GP
also coming soon Vette heads ($350)
Comparitive shopping!!!!
I also did the KYB shock/strut and Jamex
springs deal. I have only put the backs in becuase I can't find my
dam wheel lock key thing which I seemed to have lost after I swapped the
new rear in. The springs really allowed the crappy 15" rims currently
on the car to fill up the wheel wells. My rear end is definitely
a lot tighter and stiffer. ok that didn't sound right.
Some people had said that even going to
the KYB's and lowering springs that the ride would be a lot rougher, but
apparently they had never ridden in a well worn ragtop, you hard top guys
must be driving caddies or something. Also being worried about bottoming
out, well my FRONT still bottoms out becuase the springs and struts are
soooo shot, my lowered rear doesn't bottom out at all. Got to find
that dam key or something to do the front. Would also like to do
them new a-arms Stephen, how bout it?? OK I'm done rambling, later.

Go Fasters
Adam,
Alright, here's a list of what I've installed/done
MSD 6AL...only noticeable improvement was an end to my spark knock problems...that could have been attributed to me changing my Ignition Module at the same time. If I had it to do over again, I'd get something else and save that mod for later. I'm sure it'll help when I get more mods done. Cost...160 bucks
Flowmaster Cat Back...I love it, it sounds great, I think this should be everyones first mod. A good cat back. My cost...250 bucks...I installed it myself.
Random Tech Cat...It's a catalytic convertor. There's nothing great about it. It's a hi flo model and it noticeably increased my exhaust tone. It's 100% stainless, 3" direct replacement for single cat cars. It's worth the money, but I wouldn't install one unless your old cat is going bad or unless you have a low performance one...cost about 250 bucks. installed it myself
Hypertech Fan Switch...worth every penny of the 40 bucks I payed for it. It makes the fans come on when the temp gets to 200 and shuts off when the temp gets to 185. It keeps the car alot cooler. I hated the stock one would let my car hit 240 before it would turn on.
Monroe Sensatracks...Work great. I put them on all the way around. I don't autocross or anything, but it didn't hurt my handling any that I could notice. Total cost was about 150 bucks. Installed them myself.
K&N filters...I like them, they work good. They helped slightly on flow at top end. Cost...40 bucks.
Well, that's all I can think of right now...You can put a link to my page for step by step instructions on how to do most of these. I have all of this info there, plus some other free mods I've done. Modified airbox/MAF screen removal/etc.

Hope this helps with your Go Fasters page. I haven't done anything big that costed anywhere near 1000 bucks, but I still hope this helps.

i have firestone firehawk sz50's on my
car. they are great all weather tires
and they have a pretty good compound(220
treadwear.) i've never slipped inthe
wet with them and i dropped my et by .08
with just the tire change at regular
pressure(35psi) over the bridgestones
that i had before that were supposed to
be better performance tires.

Go faster mods
hey man,
I have an 87 Camaro
IROC Z28... although yours is much prettier. I
noticed someone mentioning making the
car run cooler. One thing I did
becuase I had an overheating problem was
grounding out the fan relay.
This turns it on all the time. I
noticed that didnt work like I wanted
and ended up wiring the fan directly to
an ignition lead so when the key
is on, so is the fan. This is very
helpful in cooling the car, mine has
trouble getting up to 185. Just
a lil tip for anyone who wants to make
the car run cooler for free.
Live to ride, Ride
to live.

camaro mods for your page
Hey, I am chock full of info!! Check
this out for a sample:
$400 mod: Replace that old, heat
storing stock radiator w/ similar size alum.
hi po radiator, corresponding fan shroud
and electric fan. Get rid of that
power eating fan and clutch, you will
no longer need it as you now have the
electric fan. Your engine will not
waste power turning this new electric fan,
your battery will. Wire in an on/off
switch in the dash, and you have a fan
you can turn on at will. The purpose
of the fan is to draw air thru the
radiator; why let your engine do it if
an independant elec model will???
OK now for the good one, for a $1000 engine
mod:
Don't screw with the old 305 or 350 get
yourself a big block!!! ;)
Seriously, there are a number of good
stroker kits available for 305 and 350
blocks, if you want to spend $500-$1500
you can get from 355 to 391 cubes from
your 305 or 350, most include crank, rods,
pistons and bearings, all you have
to do is get the block bored over.
Lots more power from your old little cube.
WORTHWHILE. If you want to put any
of this up on your site, email me back and
I will tell you how to do it. I
also have lots of Camaro parts for sale. See
ya,
Paul

in MPG, Cost- About 800+ Dollars to have a HI PO shop do the job.
Cam only costs about 150 dollars.
ADS Super chip-Pros- Great wide open throttle gains, cost(100$)
MSD6A IGNITION-PROS- better fuel mileage. Cost-175$
March Power pulleys- Pros- cheap usable HP with low cost. Cost-I

Extremely good performance wet and dry, A Bargain for an ultra
high perf tire. Cost- N/A( but they are worth every penny).
Overall Perfomance- I have not been to the track YET but Iwould
say it will smoke most of the 'stangs on the road in my area. I
will soon swap in a Big Cube Small Block. Handling- It is very
great. what else can I say. The stock IROC suspension is awesome
already and the Dunlop tires on the ROH rims make it even better.
No performance numbers yet but I can tell you that all On-Ramps
are now fun.
