Failed Poem

with a twinge

the physical conundrum kinks and further entangles itself

releasing a wide open-mouthed operatic note that sails lofty and loud

loud enough, at least, to vibrate those airy filaments in the inner ear

a song of nerves being pinched

an aria of electric distress

I realize I have mixed metaphors disastrously

(a conundrum can kink, entangle, sing?) well, shit

it is, perhaps, less self-defeating to simply confess

my hips ache
