MY HAIR
The first BROADWAY BILTMORE SOUVENIR PROGRAM
- designed by Robert J. Adsit -
That's Gerry Ragni's hair and eye (with peacock feather camouflage) on the cover.
OOPS!
Director Tom O'Horgan and Dance Director Julie Arenal
react to a mistake made during rehearsals.
(April 1968)
Nobody remembers the mistake, or who made it,
but this picture is one of my favorite rehearsal shots:
It embodies the spirit of fun and joy we all associate with HAIR.
Gerry Ragni and his son Erick,
backstage at the Biltmore Theatre on Broadway, spring 1968.
(it's a link to a bigger version of the photo!)
James Rado
linked to show him with Gerry Ragni in this touching moment...
as Shelley Plimpton, Emmeretta Marks, Jonathan Kramer and Lynn Kellogg look on.
GIVE ME A HEAD WITH HAIR
LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR!
Jim Rado (Claude) being whipped by Lynn Kellogg's (Sheila's) hair, surrounded by - from left clockwise - Paul Jabara (trust me, it's him!), Marjori Lipari, Steve Gamet (holding mike), Gerry Ragni (Berger), Steve Curry (Woof), Diane Keaton and Suzannah Norstrand.
AAAAH, THE BED!
Shelley Plimpton on the mattress, Berger, Woof and Claude behind her, Jonathan Kramer on all fours and Hiram Keller in the foreground.
I GOT LIFE!
Lynn Kellog, Melba Moore, Mary-Lorrie Davis, Hiram Keller and Emmeretta Marks exult, while Sally Eaton as the Mom looks on a bit skeptically and Woof/Steve Curry holds the mike for Claude/Jim Rado.
