I
started showing and training in obedience in 1973 with my first dog, Lady
D'Angelo A/C CDX. She was rescued from a divorce, and would try to
bite anyone and everyone. It was recommended I take her to obedience
school. At hers and mine very first trial she won a trophy that was
three feet high. I was hooked, and we got a Dog World for her CD,
but I had to watch her very carefully around people as she just could not
keep her teeth off of them.
I was
able to train and show a couple of other dogs in obedience for friends,
obtaining another Dog World. At this time I also showed and won my
first point in conformation.
I
have been around so long that I actually got to see "Peter", "High Born",
"POW" and my all time favorite "Formal Notice" in person.
In
1979 my next dog was born, and he became, Can OTCH Thornway's Ruff N' Tuff
Am CDX, also with a Dog World.
