Our puppies will cost between $1,500 and $2,500 plus shipping. Puppies from our litters are reserved with a $500.00 non-refundable deposit. Under certain circumstances, we will apply the deposit to a puppy from another of our litters. We encourage you to check many breeders before you make your decision on a puppy. We want you to research terminology and German Shepherd bloodlines. A good breeder will spend as much time qualifying you and your home as you spend investigating them. We want you to be happy, and we want the best possible placement for our precious puppies. Quality dog food, training and veterinarian care are expensive. The initial purchase price is the smallest investment you will make in maintaining a dog throughout its lifetime. We make every effort to preserve the safety and well being of our puppies. For this reason, we do not allow visitors while puppies are present. At your request, we will send you videos of your puppy and of dam and sire, if the sire is on our premises. We encourage and wecome you to visit us and see our facilities and dogs any time we do not have puppies. We are a small hobby breeder. We do not have a commerical type kennel. Our puppies are whelped in our home. We will never have more than two litters a year, and our focus in our breeding program will always be the improvement of the breed. We are with the puppies many hours of every day and night. We ask the prospective buyer to discuss with us the traits desired along the future intentions for the dog such as obedience, Schutzhund, agility or pet and companion. Since we never have multiple litters on the ground, we are able to spend the time necessary to evaluate every puppy, and in all instances we select the puppy for the buyer. Our goal is to match the puppy with the buyer's requests. Our puppies are available for placement at 8 weeks of age. We agree with prevailing theory that it is very important for the puppies to stay with their mother and littermates until they are 8 weeks of age. During the 6th and 7th week, they learn to interact with other dogs by being with their littermates, and studies have indicated that early departure from the litter can lead to dog aggression. If you watch puppies during these weeks, they continually practice dominance and submission. This is an important learning time as it imprints them as how to act like dogs. Remember that it is all about the bloodlines of the dogs. This is what you are purchasing, and knowledge of the bloodlines is essential. The sire and dam of our litters are Schutzhund/VPG titled and Breed Surveyed KKL1. The producing sire and dam both have excellent and proven German bloodlines with multiple generations of verified good hips and tested good temperament. The bloodlines we use in our breedings are very well known and respected and are on most German Shepherd data bases. It should be very easy to research our breedings and see pictures of dogs from past generations. The best data base for this purpose is German Shepherd Pedigree Search. Simply enter the name of the dog, and this wonderful database pulls up the information. We strongly encourage you to check this information to assist you in understanding bloodlines. A German Shepherd puppy from titled and breed surveyed sire and dam is unique. The puppy's parents have undergone rigorous testing and have spent several years in training. The sire and dam are tested and judged. They must demonstrate under the scrutiny of a highly qualified judge and the public their working ability, temperament, physical and mental soundness, structure and conformation. I strongly encourage you to read our article on Breeding Requirements. This will briefly explain some of the tests the breeding dogs must pass.
