While Brett Drury utilizes talented architectural photography
assistants and lab technicians in his work, he is always the
sole photographer on all client projects.
His background...
In photography
Since 1994, Brett has been photographing professionally -
simply a natural transition for him as he grew up assisting his
mother, a leading wildlife and nature photographer. This built
the foundation for his growth.
He later studied with leading architectural photographers
from New York City and Chicago to refine his abilities in this
specialized field.
Brett gives continuing education seminars to professional
groups and participates in lectures and workshops nationwide,
as he believes there is always more to be learned in photography,
whether one is a student or a teacher.
In architecture & design
Brett graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in architecture
from the University of Arizona.
He gained his working experience in building design while
employed at architecture firms in California and Arizona, after
which he combined his two fields of knowledge to begin Brett
Drury Architectural Photography, Inc. in 1994.
Brett continues to participate in the design community through
lectures, workshops, and philanthropic events.
His philosophy...
Brett believes a professional photographer must have a strong
understanding and knowledge of their photographic subject and
should be able to communicate it clearly to the client for a
successful outcome to occur.
Brett speaks the language of architecture and design. He feels
he is most successful when translating the three dimensions of
a built space into the two dimensions of film.
Creating inspiring images for his clients is always an exciting
and rewarding experience for Brett.
