Getting to know Iran

In January of 2006, after 23 long years, I returned to Iran. It was hard to believe how much everything had changed. I have traveled to about 20 countries, yet this was truly an uplifting experience. I traveled to Iran knowing that I am just a traveler; one whose goal is solely learning and understanding its people and culture. I suppose I also wanted to connect to my past and my childhood. I have always believed the best way to understand a country and its people is through hitchhiking and interacting with people in streets. In my 30-day stay in Iran, I realized that if you put your political bias aside, you will find Iran as one of the most beautiful courtiers you have ever visited. Iran has so much to offer, to learn, and to appreciate. So, if you are like me and one day you decided to visit Iran, I hope you will be open-minded and respectful to its people, culture, and all little kids that gather around you trying to sell you something. Don't forget your travel book and a good digital camera to capture many beautiful moments you are guaranteed to encounter. You will find Iran's cultural and natural splendor, as well as the hospitality of its people, overwhelming. This is the story of my trip.....
