A Tribute to Joe Beers

It was the last part of Sept. 1991, when I was able to attend the Lititz, Pa. Ann All Mack Truck Show at Gerharts. It was a week or so before the big Hershy Pa. Show and the turn out was great but this big blue and red truck seamed to call out to me. The plaque displayed by the truck read:

A Tribute to Joe Beers

1905 - 1989

And the men of his generation who

had the conviction and fortitude

to take the risks needed to change

America from horse trodden roads

to modern highways. A salute

also to those who helped keep the

wheels turning.

1938 MACK

model FG chaindrive

This had to be one of the largest chaindrive trucks I had ever seen and Humphery Farms, Owner and restorer had done a great job of putting it together. It run so pretty I wish I could let you listen to it now. Here are some of the pictures I took of it hope you enjoy.
