THIS OLD PETE

This old Pete caught my attention as another old Pete hauled it in. At first I wondered what kind of truck it was until I was able to read the emblem it was not the standard emblem that we see now days.

This old Pete was a chain drive twinscrew the first one I had ever seen it had chains from the transaxle to the front axle sprocket and another chain on a separate sprocket going to a sprocket on the rear axle on each side.

I watched as it was unloaded. The chains flopping around as it was driven around the field.

After a while I was able to get closer to it. I then discovered that the rear spring was just that a single solid piece of steel. Boy what a ride that must have had.

It seemed to have a 6-cly gas Motor and it seemed to run very well for its age. I over heard the owner saying that it had been a California truck and he had gone out and gotten it. And he had not done a lot to it yet.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them.
