A body of water doesn't have to be deep; if a dragon lives in it, the water will be spirited. This is a simple cottage; my moral values spread their reputation like fragrant perfume. Green moss grows on my front steps; green grass reflects on my front curtain. Those who visit with me are erudite scholars; I associate with no commoners. Here I can pluck out tunes on my simple zither instead of being subjected to the confusion of an orchestra Or read precious volumes and no official documents arrive to tire me. This house is like Zhuge Liang's grass hut in Nanyang and Yang Xiong's house in Xishu. Confucius says, "What is simple and crude about this kind of house and owner?"
