Wang Hong 王鴻

Wang Hong's piece is a lovely example of the modernist approach to calligraphy. The central character (seal script) and the couplet (cursive script) that flanks it are appropriately written on a tea cup. The arrangement of characters in a 3, 2, 1, 2 ,3 pattern accentuates the shape of the cup and emphasizes the symetrical strokes of the central character "tea"—.
