Kunio Kaneko was born in Tokyo in 1949 and studied at the Musashino University of Fine Arts. He often uses gold leaf in
the colouring of his woodblocks to extremely good effect and has a well established reputation through
a number of exhibitions in New York, Tokyo and regional Japanese cities. His woodblocks have an
individual appeal and blend classic design traditions with a modernistic approach to
colour and texture.
