Artist's statement: "I began painting in 1974 under Zhang Zhengyin, a master in my hometown Nanjing.
I was majored in Archaeology when I went Nanjing University in 1978, and became
a fellow of the Center for Oriental Painting and Calligraphy Study in 1983.
I taught traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy at the University of
Washington, Experimental College from 1988 to 1995."
