GRADES

Our Texas Mesquite Flooring comes in two grades;

RUSTIC ~ Has all the unique characteristics left in, such as worm holes, sap pockets, cracks (contained within the stick), and knots. This grade will require some filling, such as clear or black epoxy. We like the black epoxy because it goes so well with the natural color.

SELECT ~ Has a clear face with only occasional small, tight knots and streaks.

2" Tongue and Groove Strip Flooring ~ Comes in random lengths, 9" - 48" long, 1/2" thick, 2" wide, with ends squared. Select grade only. For glue down or nail down applications. Shipped in nested bundles of 33.3 sq. ft. each, 5 strips across by 10 rows high per bundle, ready to install. Approx. weight - 70 Lbs. per bundle.

3" Tongue and Groove strip flooring ~ Comes in random lengths, 9"-48" long, 1/2" thick, 3" wide, with ends squared. Select or Rustic. For nail down or glue down applications. Shipped in nested bundles of 30 sq. ft. each. 3 strips across by 10 rows high per bundle, ready to install. Approx. weight 62 Lbs. per bundle.

4" Tongue and Groove strip flooring ~ Comes in random lengths, 9"-72" long, 1/2" thick, 4" wide, with ends squared. Select or Rustic. For nail down applications. Shipped in nested bundles of 60 sq.ft. each. 3 strips across by 10 rows high per bundle, ready to install. Approx. weight 120 lbs. per bundle.

5" Tongue and Groove strip flooring ~ Comes in random lengths, 9"-72" long, 1/2" thick, 5" wide, with ends squared. Rustic or Select. This wider plank is perfect for large areas, and the wider surface area really shows off the rustic character, and beautiful grain patterns in both grades. Comes in 50 sq.ft. bundles. Approx. weight 100 lbs. each.

3",4",5" X 1/2" Tongue and Groove strip flooring ~ Combination of 3 widths in Rustic or Select. Comes in equal linear footage of each. For nail down applications.

2 1/4" x 3/8" Tongue and Groove strip ~ Comes in random lengths, 9"-48" long, 3/8" thick, 2 1/4" wide. Select grade only, glue-down only.The most economical pricing, and use of the mesquite log, this product is well suited for commercial use where large quantities are required, and great for residential use as well.

3" x 1/2" Tongue and Groove Wainscot ~ For wall applications,or ceilings if used random. This 3" wide T & G has two beads, giving it the appearance of 1 1/2" wide strips with an old~fashioned flavor.

2" Four Side Square ~ Comes in randon lengths, 6"-48" long, 1/2" thick, 2" wide. Select grade only, glue down only. Comes in bundles of 33.3 sq.ft. each. Approx. weight 70 lbs. each.

2" Four Side Square Herringbone ~ Comes in equal lengths of 6", 8", 10", or 12", 1/2" thick, and 2" wide. Select only, glue down only. Comes in boxes 12" x 12" x 24".

Additional info

Due to mesquite's exceptional hardness and resistance to wear, 1/2" thick mesquite is more than adequate for commercial and residential applications. Flooring that is 3/4" thick is an unnecessary waste of material.The equal, and very low, radial and tangential shrinkages of mesquite wood result in a very dimensionally stable floor with almost no tendency to warp.Therefore, while tongue and grooved flooring is useful to keep the floor tight while it is being laid, there is no good technical reason for end-matching(our T & G has ends squared).

Mesquite when oiled will age to a naturally darker, rich, red-brown color from exposure to sunlight, however, if a UV inhibiting, water-based finish is used, the wood will stay a lighter shade.

Our flooring is kiln dried to 6-8% moisture content, and is carefully graded and defected before leaving our facility, so that when your floor arrives, it is ready to lay. Our flooring products come in unfinished materials only.

All orders require half down to begin the job. Orders may be paid with a cashiers check or money order, or direct deposit to Bank of America.This places your order on the board and in line, in the order they are received, and helps us purchase raw logs. While we do have certain items in stock at any given time, most of our orders are produced on demand, as we get many large, and custom orders. We need as much lead time as possible for large orders. The remaining balance is paid upon delivery of the order, either COD with a cashiers check, or if prepaid, it will be shipped freight collect. We shop around for the best shipping rates for our customers.
