Benny B. Childers, age 69, was born on July 19th, 1937 and passed away from leukemia
at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas on November 11th, 2006. He proudly
served our country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in Wichita Falls and
resided there for 32 years. Benny was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, June
Childers and is survived by his daughter Kim Harashima; 2 grandchildren; sisters: Kathryn
Johnson of Houston, Texas and Sylvia Stephens of Tennessee; special nieces: Virginia K.
Johnson who thoughtfully cared for him in Houston during the hardships of his last
treatments and Denise McDaniels for her continuous encouragements that meant so much; as
well as many other relatives and friends. A special mention of gratitude is extended to
Katrina Johnson & family, Steve O'Connor, and Paul & Connie Herrera for all the care and
support they provided behind the scenes. And, to all his friends and family who were
close, on behalf of Benny, a heartfelt "Thank You" with deepest appreciation.
Benny will be taken to Japan where his daughter lives for services and interment.
