Doug served in the Army for 12 years. He was a great mechanic and dispatcher. Doug was a mechanic in Houston, Texas for several years. He was construction foreman for many years before his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife June, both parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter. He is survived by daughter Rhonda (Tina) Lovern; son Alvin Nees; step-daughter Rhonda Poindexter; 3 step-sons: Cleve McCurdy, Jr., Mark McCurdy, and Raymond McCurdy; brother Charles Nees; 8 sisters: Helen, Linda, Pat, Diana, Sharon, Wendy, Mary, and Etta; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, November 6th, 2006, at the
Houston
National Cemetery with Rev. Meeks officiating. Military Honors were rendered
by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail.
Doug will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
