On January 29, 1931, a gift from God was given to Willie and Sarah Mason,

"Katie Mae"

She was born the fourth child of eight; three sisters and four brothers. (Mildred*, Mattie*, Gurthie*, Mitchell*, Robert*, Douglas* and Billy*.) She married John Roney and from that union four lovely children were born (Dwight, Gloria*, Ollie* and Deborah*). *PRECEDED HER IN DEATH

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Dwight, eight grandchildren (Robert Jr., Jackie, David, John Earl, Brandy, Edgar Jr., Patrick and Patricia), six great- grandchildren (Chaz, Jazmine, Britney, Kenneth Jr., Jamelle and Kendall). A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

It's been said that it's not the life or death of someone that defines them but the dash in between. The dash isn't long enough to define her or her many accomplishments. She lived a life of love and giving, touching the hearts and lives of all who crossed her path.

Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 13th, 2006 at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel at the Houston National Cemetery with viewing immediately before with Reverend C.B. Meachum officiating.

Katie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gran,

You were a strong woman. You loved us all unconditionally from your heart. And even though we knew the day was coming, we never thought we'd be apart. You gave us so many things but showed us so much more. Just because that's who you were, we're sure God's letting you through the door. If here in flesh before us, we're sure you would tell us, "don't worry or carry on". So we'll save our tears for laughter and just as you, we'll remain strong.

- Grand/Great-Grandchildren

A very special thank you to the staff of Select Specialty Heights Hospital for the excellent care and concern you provided during her illness.
