Dave Robert Alfred
May 11th, 1940 - February 11th, 2007
Don't grieve for me now, for now I'm free; I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship
shared, a laugh, a kiss; ah, yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
Dave Robert Alfred,
66, passed away in Houston, Texas on Sunday, February 11th, 2007.
He was born on May 11th, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Mary Floraine Ustick and
David Howard Alfred.
Dave served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and received an Honorable
Discharge from active duty on May 19th, 1961.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Eunice Alfred; 3 children: David Robert Alfred,
Cynthia Marie Bezet & husband Steve, and Matthew Christopher Alfred & wife Kristie;
4 grandchildren: Robert Allen Greif, Greer Ethan Vincent, Greysen Evan Alfred, and
Emma Grace Alfred; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services with Rev. C.L. Hitt officiating were held at 12:00 P.M. on
Wednesday, February 14th, 2007, in the VA Chapel at the
Houston National Cemetery located at
10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors
were rendered by the U.S. Air Force Active Duty Military Honor Detail.
Dave will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
