Douglas Wayne Bandy, 63, passed away in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007. He was born on January 20th, 1944 in Tulot, Arkansas to Helen Lynell Allen and Albert Odell Bandy, Sr. Douglas served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and received an Honorable Discharge from active duty on May 10th, 1965. He then served in the U.S. Navy Reserve until May 13th, 1968. Douglas was preceded in death by his father Odell Bandy, Sr.; brother Albert Odell Bandy, Jr.; and sister Virginia Landry. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Rebecca Hernandez Rodriguez; mother Helen Bandy; brother Duard Bandy & wife GlenEll; 4 sisters: Shelby Hunt & husband Billy, Lois McIlwain & husband Leroy, Debbie Hahn & husband Jim, and Devene Hickey & husband Joe; 8 nieces & nephews: Darlene Henrickson, Helen Landry, Darrell Trickett, Crissy Hunt, Josh Hahn, Becky Hahn, Amy Hahn, and Duard Bandy, Jr.; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services with Father Seth Hermoso officiating were held at 2:15 P.M. on Monday, January 29th, 2007, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail. "Sonny" will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
