Gene Donald Deitz,
80, went to be with the Lord on April 21st, 2007.
He was born October 19th, 1926 in Red Lion, Pennsylvania.
Gene served in the United States Navy in the Marshall Islands during
World War II as a Radioman Third Class.
He was preceded in death by his father John Warren Deitz; son Donald
Gene Deitz; and grandson Thomas McWilliams. Gene is survived by his
wife Carolyn Deitz of Houston, Texas; children: Diane McWilliams of
York, Pennsylvania, Lori Wilson and husband Todd of York, Pennsylvania,
and Thomas Gene Deitz of Rosenberg, Texas; step-children: Kenneth
Sanders of Houston, Texas, Kristopher Sanders & wife Beth of Houston,
Texas, and Kelly Sanders of Houston, Texas; mother Nellie Meads Deitz
of York, Pennsylvania; sister Jacqueline Hench & husband Harry Decker
of York, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Amy McWilliams of Dallastown,
Pennsylvania, Angie McWilliams of York, Pennsylvania, Chad McWilliams
of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, Billie Jo Hawks & husband Michael of Red
Lion, Pennsylvania, Holly Wilson of Brogue, Pennsylvania, Victoria
Sanders of Houston, Texas, Alexandria Sanders of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, Michael Sanders of Cape Canaveral, Florida, Anthony Sanders
of Cape Canaveral, Florida, Kelly Sanders of Houston, Texas, and Kenna
Sanders of Houston, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many
other relatives & friends.
A Funeral Mass with Father Hai Dang officiating was held on Wednesday,
April 25th, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at
St. Cyril of Alexandria located at
10503 Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas, phone 713-789-1250.
Interment with Military Honors rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail
was at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, April 27th, 2007, at the
Houston National Cemetery located at
10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686.
Gene will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
