Jack Wilburn Reid, 51, passed away unexpectedly in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007. He was born on August 5th, 1955 in Texas City, Texas to Lloyd Buford Reid, Sr. and Clara Alice Mounce. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge for his service on June 1st, 1978.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Buford Reid, Sr. and sister Barbara Gail Reid. He is survived by 2 sons: Brian Reid & wife Amber and John Michael Reid, and their mother Debra Neuse; mother Clara Alice Singletary; brother Lloyd B. Reid, Jr. & wife Becky; 2 sisters: Peggy King and Geraldine Moore; a special grandson: Lucas Michael Reid; 8 nieces & nephews: Melody Reid, Wesley Reid, Gwendolyn Caskey & husband Wayne, Rene Keene, Laurie Cannon & husband Tim, Angie Jackson & husband Brian, Clint Moore & wife Amanda, and Valarie Jones & husband Scott; 12 grandnieces & grandnephews: Shaun Caskey, Jeremy Caskey, Charissa Caskey, Christopher Caskey, Kyle Caskey, Tony Westmoreland, Frank Cannon, Summer Cannon, Seth Jackson, Alex Jackson, Destiny Moore, and Ashley Huckey; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A Military Honor Service was held in the VA Chapel at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, July 2nd, 2007, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail. The casket was open for a short time before the service began for those desiring to pay their last respects.
Jack will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
