Kent James Daye was born October 4th, 1955, in Phoenix, Arizona, but has lived in Houston since 1975. He worked 21 years in the Surveying & Mapping Division of Houston Lighting & Power (now CenterPoint Energy) as a Survey Technician. He passed quietly away on Sunday, May 13th, 2007, at a Houston hospital surrounded by his family. Kent is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sue Findley, a son, Matthew Daye and a daughter, Kendra Daye, all of Houston. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley LeBrun, of Overgaard, Arizona, and brothers, Ron Daye and his wife, Doris, also of Overgaard, Arizona, and their children and grandchildren; Gary Daye and his wife, Joanne of Phoenix, Arizona, and their children and grandchildren; Michael Daye and his wife, Jane of Escondido, California, and their children and grandchild and Scott Daye and his wife, Anna, also of Phoenix, Arizona.
A wake in Kent’s honor was held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007, from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the home of Ms. Aisha Currie, located at 8203 Braes River in Houston, Texas, zip code 77074. A Memorial Service will be held in August at Overgaard, Arizona.
Kent will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
