Edward F. Landrum, Jr., 61, passed away on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 in Channelview, Texas. He was born on November 12th, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Eleanor Irene Lovell and Edward Frank Landrum, Sr. Eddie was proud to have been an Eagle Scout and graduated from M.B. Smiley High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy from July 17th, 1967 until April 30th, 1971 during the Vietnam Conflict. Eddie served aboard the USS Oriskany and was at sea for 3 years and 2 months. During his military service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary/Vietnam Campaign Medal. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Eddie served in the Active Reserve until July 16th, 1973.
Eddie was preceded in death by both parents and is survived by his wife Julia McAnally; daughter Nichole Harding & husband C.J. Tucker; grandchildren Christopher, Ayden, and one more on the way whose name will be William; 2 brothers: Stephen Landrum & wife Pam and Gary Landrum & wife Jean; 5 nieces & nephews: Chrissy, Nora, Adam, Patrick, and Jackie; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Military Honor Services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 29th, 2008, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail. There was a time of continued fellowship at Eddie's brother's home immediately following the service.
Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
