John Emanuel Hernandez was born on July 4, 1919 in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, and passed into the hands of God in Houston, Texas on January 2, 2008. John graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and attended classes at Rice University. He was honorably discharged as a Medical Technician in the United States Army having served from December 12, 1942 to October 27, 1945. John was naturalized by the U.S. Military as a citizen in Cherbourg, France, on June 15, 1945. He is survived by sister Esther Hernandez Guadarrama, his brother Arthur Hernandez, and his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. For information call 832-724-9790.
Memorial Services with Reverend Gerald Goodrum officiating were held in the VA Chapel at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 10th, 2008, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail.
John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
