Neva Moses Squires, 97, passed away on Friday, April 18th, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Houston, Texas. She was born on February 16th, 1911 in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, to Charles Henry and Ada Ingham Whaley.
Neva was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, plus she was a friend to all. Her faithful belief in God sustained her throughout her life, and she was a member of the International Church of God.
Neva was preceded in death by her birth mother and father, Charles Henry and Ada Ingham Whaley; her mother and father, Webster Lloyd and Lucille May Moses; her brothers, Dallas "Buck" Whaley and Gerald Moses; her sisters, Lura Jennings and Florence Jansen, and her grandparents, William Harvey and Mary Elizabeth Beeman Ingham.
She is survived by her daughter, Karyn Compton of Houston, Texas; her sister, Ruth Easterly of Bryan, Texas; her friend, Helen Moses of Houston, Texas, and a huge church family. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17th, 2008, in the chapel of the Court Building at the Crestview Retirement Community located at 2505 East Villa Maria Road, Bryan, Texas.
Neva was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, and she was a member of the basketball, softball, and diving teams. She had been a resident of Bryan, Texas, for the past twelve years and was an inspiration to friends and family alike.
Neva will never be forgotten, and memories of her will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
