Ruth Marion Carpenter, 74, passed away on Friday, February 1st, 2008 in Houston, Texas. She was born on August 9th, 1933 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Ruth Marion Fusel and George Carpenter. Ruthie served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and received an Honorable Discharge on April 8th, 1957 for her service. She is survived by her longtime companion Fae Jones of Spring, Texas; sister Shirley Corteau & husband Al of Hortense, Georgia; sister-in-law Edith Carpenter of Hortense, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services with Pastor John Chivvas officiating were held in the VA Chapel at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 7th, 2008, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail. Ruthie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
