Charles Jacke Goldstein, passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, May 8th, 2009. Charles served in the Marine Corps during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge for his service there. He then joined in the Air Force and acheived the rank of Major before retiring after serving for over 20 years. A graduate of the University of Texas Law School, Charles is survived by his beloved partner Polly; daughter Nancy Woods; 2 sons: Charles Phelps & wife Elizabeth and Gary Goldstein; 4 grandchildren: Griffin Phelps, Blaire Phelps, Brett Phelps, and Lindsey Woods; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services with Military Honors were held at 10:30 A.M. in the VA Chapel on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686. Military Honors were rendered by the V.F.W. District #4 Ceremonial Detail. Donations in Charles's memory are appreciated to the American Stroke Association.
