Charles "Chuck" Ray Hinds, 75, passed away at home in La Grange, Texas on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009. He was born on July 18th, 1934 in Houston, Texas to Erma Rosella Harding and Ray Leroy Hinds. Chuck served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and received an Honorable Discharge for his service on November 20th, 1957.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father Ray Leroy Hinds, mother Erma Rosella Hinds, and nephew William Ray Rogers. He is survived by children: Tammy Tippit, Kristi Jones, Jackie Scabet, and "Duke"; sisters: Eloise Rife and Jackie Rogers; grandchildren: Shauna Snyder, Cassie Winkle, Corey Winkle, Joseph Scabet, Matthew Scabet, and Jason McDaniel; great-grandchildren: Damen Riggle and Mae Leigh Riggle; dear friend Wanda Trumps and her daughter Cathy Treece & family; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Post #586 will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 18th, 2009, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686.

Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
