Helen Lee Hodge-Swartz, 85, passed away on Monday, March 9th, 2009, in Cleveland, Texas. She was born on March 19th, 1923 in Cuero, Texas. Helen was the daughter of Helen Katherine Hodge-Ashton and beloved stepfather Paul Ashton. She was known by her dear ones as Cricket, who was the warmest hearted woman anyone could befriend.

Helen left this world to be reunited with her Lord and Savior and the love of her life for 59 years, Arthur Harvey Swartz Sr. She will be missed deeply by the family and friends left behind. Helen is survived by her son Arthur Harvey Swartz Jr., Paula Rose Santos and husband Joel J. Santos, brother James Hodge Sr. and wife Dorothy Mae Hodge, brother Brick Hodge and wife Anna Hodge, grandson Brandon M. Santos and fiancé Vanessa Meza, granddaughter Kristina L. Valadez and husband Robert Valadez, grandson Joel Jaime Santos Jr., nephew James (Jimbo) M. Hodge Jr. and wife Kathy Hodge, niece Katherine Fae Hodge, nephew Marvin Henderson and wife Kathy Henderson, great grandchildren Dorien W. Valadez, Giovannie Valadez, Ean Lee Santos, Elizabeth Rose Santos, Jeremy Daniel Albers Jr., Nadia I. Valadez, Idalis L. Valadez and many other loved ones that will cherish her memory always.

Memorial Services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009, at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, phone (281) 447-8686 after which Helen was laid to rest in Section C-7, Row A, Space 27 with her husband, Arthur H. Swartz Sr.

Helen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
