Roderick Everett Doak, of Spring, Texas passed away on October 11th, 2009. Born in Effingham, Illinois on July 4th, 1948, Rod spent most of his childhood in Homer, Illinois and graduated from Homer High School in 1965. Rod worked in Chicago for several years before moving to Orlando in 1973, where he was employed by Walt Disney World as a cash accountant. He moved to Houston in 1981 and worked in tax accounting at Reed Tool Company. Over the years he continued working in various tax functions for a number of units of Baker Hughes. Rod was known for his knowledge, integrity, dedication, tenacity, generosity, and humor.
Rod is survived by his mother Evelyn, brother Stephen and wife Janie, brother Clifton and wife Sandra, numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Samuel Stalberg, and his beloved beagle Sugar. Rod often said he was happy with simple pleasures, like reading a science fiction book while eating spanish peanuts and drinking a strawberry soda. May you read, munch and drink to your heart's content.
Rod will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
