Aubrey Horman "Joe" Creek, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, April 27th, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas, fighting his final and most courageous battle of all with COPD. The older of two sons, Joe was born on January 12th, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to Lillian and Joe Horman Creek. He was career military and served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and was stationed in Spain and England. Joe received an Honorable Discharge on December 16th, 1969.

He was an active member of the Gulf Coast RV Club and an avid fisherman. He lived for the warm, green waters of the Texas Gulf Coast and fishing at Padre Island’s Bob Hall Pier for Redfish, Drum and Spanish Mackerel. His greatest catch in life was his Spanish wife of 42 years, Elena Antón Creek.

Joe was preceded in death by both parents and his younger brother, Durwood, and is survived by his wife Elena Antón Creek ; daughter Elena Antón Chambers and husband Joel, 3 grandsons: Alexander Clarke Ennis, Andrew Thomas Ennis and Kyle Alexander Chambers.

Memorial Services for both Elena and Joe with Monsignor Hermoso from St. John Neumann Catholic Church officiating were held on Friday, August 17th, 2007, at 12:00 P.M. in the VA Chapel at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, phone 281-447-8686.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Houston Alzheimer’s Association by sending a check or money order to the Alzheimer's Association at 2242 West Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77030-2008. A happy, fun-loving and courageous man, Joe will be missed by all who loved him and knew his humor.
