Photo of Decedent

Carol Lester Starr was born in Denver, Colorado on July 8th, 1949 to Joffre and Clydia Lester. The fifth of seven children (including a twin brother), Carol enjoyed spending time with her siblings and exploring her creative dreams.

After graduating from East High School in 1967, Carol married Arlon Richard Starr (deceased). The couple, both very dedicated to their families, chose to remain in Denver and raised two daughters together before divorcing in 1983.

Carol later moved to Houston, Texas where she was employed for several years by the Harris County Toll Road Authority. She enjoyed close friendships with many of her co-workers and thought of them as her extended family.

Always deeply devoted to Christ, she became a member of the Fallbrook Church and embraced the spirit of fellowship, sharing her love of the Lord with friends, family and strangers alike.

Carol possessed a warm and generous spirit that endeared her to everyone she met. She will be remembered by those who loved her as a deeply compassionate and considerate woman who thought first of others and did her best to make the world a better place.

Carol departed this life on May 22nd, 2005. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: L'tonya Starr of Seattle, Washington and Tracie Starr of Houston Texas; her grandson Arlon Jackson of Houston, Texas; her mother Clydia Council of Denver, Colorado; her father Joffre Lester of San Francisco, California; two sisters Linda Butts & husband Harold of Denver, Colorado and Bonnie Coutee & husband Clarence of Oakland, California; four brothers: Michael Lester of Denver, Colorado; Carl Lester & wife Lucille of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Jerry Pough of Oakland, California; and David Council & wife Phyllis of Oakland, California; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
