E.F. Roberson,
79 passed away on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005, in Humble, Texas.
He was born on November 28th, 1925 in Tallassee, Alabama to Era & Chalmer Roberson.
E.F. served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received an Honorable
Discharge in 1952.
E.F. was a journeyman machinist and a long-time owner/operator in the trucking
business. He even drove until he was 76 years old. E.F. loved Snickers, Peanut
Clusters, Momma's fried pies & her good home cooking. He told us once that he
was a simple man with simple ideas -- "Do right, be fair, do it right the
first time, don't lie, and love your people hard & fast." When asked if
he would do anything different in life, he thought a while and said, "Naw.
I'd do it all over again the same way. I've had a good life with your Momma
and you kids."
A good father and husband, E.F. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine
Roberson of Splendora, Texas; children: James Roberson of Splendora, Texas,
Susan Parker & husband Butch of Houston, Texas; and Debora Jamrok & husband Bill
of Houston, Texas; brother James Bowles & wife Mary Edna of Alabama; sister
Virginia Bentley & husband Joe of Alabama; grandchildren: Laura Beth Parker,
Eric Parker, Amanda Jamrok, and Ashleigh Jamrok, all of Houston, Texas; as well
as many other relatives & friends.
Funeral Services were held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, August 29th, 2005, in the VA Chapel
at the Houston
National Cemetery with Military Honors. Viewing was immediately before the service
in the VA Chapel.
