Edward Gilbert Hopkins, Sr.,
72, passed away in Kingwood, Texas on Thursday, April 21st, 2005.
He was born on March 15th, 1933 in Schenectady, New York to Kathleen & Henry Hopkins.
Ed served in the U.S. Air Force as a Crew Chief & Pilot during the Korean War before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1956.
He graduated from San Diego State University and was the quarterback for their football team.
Ed was preceded in death by both parents, daughter Mary Theresa Canino-Zannone, and brothers Robert & Richard Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife M. Edna Hopkins of New Caney, Texas; 11 children: Kathleen Ann Tate of Houston, Texas, Cynthia Diane Bradford & husband John of Lufkin, Texas, Gayle Hopkins Nelson & husband Frank of Nassau Bay, Texas, Joseph David Canino & wife Kim of Baytown, Texas, Barbara Lee Dauzat & husband David of Splendora, Texas, Susanne Trinette Canino of Humble, Texas, Edward G. Hopkins, Jr., of Los Angeles, California, Suzanne Michelle Sims & husband Dean of Porter, Texas, Erica Lynn Hopkins of New Caney, Charles Kyle Hopkins & wife Melonie of Waller, Texas, and Philip Fletcher Hopkins & wife Tika of New Caney, Texas; 2 brothers: William Hopkins & wife Marlene and David Hopkins & wife Paula, both of California; 23 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way; special babies: Princess, Pepé Le Peł, Prince Pepé le Peł, and Princess Pinkey le Peł; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services held on Monday, April 25th, 2005, at 10:30 A.M. at the family's residence in New Caney, Texas.
Ed will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
