Hans "Sunny" Adolph Hansen, III, 51, passed away in Houston, Texas on July 19th, 2005. Our beloved Sunny was born on August 22nd, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. His career included teaching at Garland and Alvin ISDs and working in the Management Information Systems department at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Sunny was preceded in death by his mother LaDoye Hansen and brother Bobby Poer. He is survived by his father H.A. Hansen, Jr. of San Antonio; his life-partner Bob Hernandez; daughter Valerie Hansen of Allen; sister Norma Wynn & husband Jimmy of Alvin; sister Shirley VanHeuverswyn & husband Grady of San Marcos; niece Shirley Shisler & family of Alvin; nephew Ray Dick & family of Alvin; nephew James Allen of Alvin; nephew Brian VanHeuverswyn & family of West Des Moines, Iowa; niece Lisa Bogdonas & family of Davenport, Iowa; extended family: Robert & Herlinda Hernandez of Fort Worth, Natalie Morris of New Zealand, Ursula Coville of Waco, Linda Lougee & family of Colorado, and Kathryn Ravelo & family of Virginia; as well as many other relatives & friends. Calling hours were at Aldine Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 29th, 2005 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Graveside Services were held at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 30th, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Park located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218, phone 210-828-2811. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to help with funeral expenses. The family thanks those special doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists who gave him loving care during his long struggle to recover. Sunny will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
