Lura Lynnette Bradley was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on February 24th, 1938 but said she came to Texas as soon as she could! Lynne passed away May 11th, 2005 and is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Bradley; children: Vicki Curley of The Woodlands, Texas, Cheryl Wilson of Rockport, Texas, Randy Bradley of Missouri City, Texas, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; mother Ruth Roy of Houston; sisters: Frances LeClere of Fischer, Texas and Celia Stasney of Santa Barbara, California; and brother Lauren LeClere of Los Angeles, California.
Lynne was best known for her work during her 33 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous. She helped many women to get sober and stay sober.
She was a published author with successful mystery novels and nonfiction books alike. She was active in the local writers groups and taught creative writing at local colleges until health problems made it impossible. She had 17 students who were published and many friends in the writing community.
Although her accomplishments were many, Lynne always said her greatest was as a mother. She will be missed by her family and friends but will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Memorial Services were held on Sunday, May 22nd, 2005 at the Houston Council on Alcoholism.
