Pauline Bernice Kent, 94, passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, June 10th, 2005. ‘Granny' was born on September 15th, 1910 in Marion, Indiana to Violet & Charles Grant. She retired from Heckman Bookbinding Company in North Manchester, Indiana after working there for over 25 years. A member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, ‘Granny' had a fabulous sense of humor and a terrific smile. Always upbeat, she loved to play poker and was known as the "Bingo Queen" because she won so frequently. ‘Granny' was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Shelton Powell Kent, son Charles Thomas Kent, daughter Pauline Bernice Sedam, both parents, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter Patricia A. Riley & husband David G.; 4 grandchildren: Karen Wilkerson, Scott Sedam & wife Sherry, Deborah Gibson, and Susan Champion; 3 great-grandchildren: Dixie Battiste, Jennifer Leed, and Erica Fernandez; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Sydney Battiste and Jordan-Micah Fernandez; son-in-law Charles Sedam; as well as many other relatives and friends. Memorial Services were held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church located at 14301 Stuebner Airline Road, Houston, Texas 77069, phone number (281) 440-1600. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the St. Dunstan's Memorial Fund. Graveside Services with interment will be held on Monday, June 20th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Century Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Known as the "Lady With A Smile", ‘Granny' will be missed by all who knew & loved her.
