Roy Edward Cain,
76, passed away in Houston, Texas on Thursday, April 21st, 2005.
He was born on June 11th, 1928 in Red Rock, Texas to Flora Mae & Columbus Cain.
Roy served in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge in 1948.
He also received a PhD in English from the University of Texas in 1963.
Roy was Professor of English at Stephen F. Austin University 1967-1993 and Chairman of the English Department 1970-1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Cain and both parents and is
survived by 1 son: James D. Cain; 1 sister: Gussie Stone; and 4 brothers: Delton Cain, Wilford Cain, James “Cotton” Cain, and Harold “Scooter” Cain.
Roy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
