Poor application is the cause of most of the flaws in decal decoration. If any moisture is allowed to remain under the film during application, the decal will not adhere to the ware when it is fired. Even a prolonged drying time before firing will not overcome or correct this problem. Moisture left under the film will dry and be replaced by air pockets. These show up after firing as "blow outs" or black spots in the design. To assure good decal application, use the squeegee with a firm, steady pressure. This will force all the moisture out from under the decal. Keep the squeegee moist to avoid tearing of the decal film. Wipe from the center of the decal out past the decal film until it is firmly adhered.
