Pot-bellied Pig Rescue and Sanctuary

Pigs*A*Lot is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, abused and neglected potbellied pigs. Our goals include reducing the number of homeless potbellied pigs, supporting and encouraging spay and neuter programs, and informing prospective owners and others about the pleasures, problems and responsibilities of owning pot-bellied pigs.

The most important function of this rescue operation is to place pigs in adoptive homes. The sanctuary also serves as a permanent home for pot-bellied pigs that cannot be adopted out for reasons including severe abuse and abandonment. Sponsorship donations of $30 per month help to provide food and veterinary care for our resident pigs. Get involved by sponsoring one of these pigs today!

As part of our effort to educate the public about these intelligent animals, we visit schools and attend functions to increase awareness and to dispel popular myths about these loveable creatures. We have also formed a support group for current and future pig owners. Our purpose is to provide on-going support and advice so that both you and your pet will have a long and healthy friendship.

Operated exclusively by volunteers, we provide a safe haven for mistreated and unwanted pot-bellied pigs. Every pig starts off with a family that later abandons them. We take in pigs from various sources, including shelters that are unable to house these pot-bellied pigs. We are working in cooperation with the Humane Society of Tucson to make adopting a pig from the sanctuary more convenient.

We need your help to continue our work! The current number of pot-bellied pigs residing at the sanctuary is roughly 150, but is increasing at an alarming rate. It takes a lot of hard work and money to keep this rescue operation going.
