Margaret ELLIS was born about 1700 in Ireland. She was md before 1724, in Ireland, to James HUEY who was born in Ireland about 1655. Margaret ELLIS and James HUEY named a son HERCULES leading one to believe her father was Lord Hercules ELLIS born about 1660.
Hercules HUEY md Catherine PERCY before 1760, in Ireland. The following is an exerpt from his 1775 will, that is recorded in Camden, now Kershaw County S.C., as it was copied by Viola C. Floyd, from Kershaw Wills, Vol 1, page 55, S.C. Archives, Columbia, S.C.:
"I Hercules Huey, (Hughey), being weak of Body but sound of Mind and Judgment Do make this my last will and Testament in the manner and form folling... Secondly I do give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife Cathren Hughey and my six children, Alexander,John,James,and Hercules, Mary and Elizabeth all my real and personal Estates, Shear and Shear (Share)like Except one cow to my son and Daughter Aprahan and Margaret Adams (these are Katherine's children by her first husband Adams) . Thirdly I do order My Wife and family to live on the Plantation together that I now live upon on Cain Creek untill they come of age and if Mary and Elizabeth should die before they come of Age, their peart of the land is to go to the rest and when they are of age they are to have no land and if my son Alexander comes from Ireland and what money he brings with him or goods of my property he is to deliver them up to Executor or he is to have no Peart of My Estate heare..."
Mary HUEY b1763 d1841. Died in Mecklenburg Co., NC. On 03/23/1780 Mary md John McCAIN who was the son of Hugh McCAIN and Eleanor NUTT.
