educated at the University of the South at Sewanee and the University of
Tennessee Medical School at Nashville. In 1906 he was associated with the
Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York. When failing health sent
him west in search of a more favorable climate, he settled in Oklahoma City
