Still going and going. That promotional battery bunny hasn't a thing on Shelbyville's Andrew Philpot. At 96, Philpot keeps going and going and going. When his lofty tomato plants grew to 13 feet high, he simply climbed a ladder to pluck the tomatoes. With his summer crop wrapped up, he's working toward a fall project — turnips. And according to his daughter, ..., they're planted everywhere — including under the tomato vines and mingled in flower beds. Does he really like turnips that much? "No," his daughter informs with laughter. "He just had a lot of seeds." |
