In this issue you will find a feature on London, England with a big map of the city which includes Philpott Lane. Look at the upper right half of the map where the Thames River runs past Old Billingate Market. Just north of this market, past St. Mary at Hill, is Philpott Lane.
It was reported to me that this is the business location of John Philipot, the Lord Mayor of London in 1378/79. He was a merchant (a spicer) and one of the most famous Philpots in English history.
