The Pleasant Run School was established and operating in present-day Colleyville by 1870 and continued to hold classes without interruption through the 1962-1963 school year. During those years the school name remained constant while the name of the community it served changed from Pleasant Run to Bransford and finally Colleyville.
Eleven years after the Pleasant Run School District was consolidated with Grapevine an alumni picnic was held on the grounds of the First National Bank (today's CHASE Bank). The event was such a tremendous success that a committee was organized to plan and implement future reunions.
