The Beginning
So how did it begin? Simple. Jeanne Vilim, Calli Sutton and I were
doing conjoint family therapy at Austin Travis County MHMR. We were very
successful at working with families for whom nothing else had been successful at
resolveing their issue(s). Well, it worked so well that ATCMHMR decided
that it was not cost effective to have 2-3 therapists working with a
family. Jeanne had wanted to start a private practice and decided
that it was the right time to employ both Calli and me as contract therapists in
her private practice.
The Practice
Things started falling into place quickly for the private practice. It
was not long after our discussion that Calli found a space that Jeanne could
rent for her private practice. Jeanne, Bobbi Evans and Guy Maddox decided
to split the rent at 3144 Bee Caves Rd., suite #6 three ways. Within a few
weeks we had a space. Since Calli and I did not yet have our ACP licenses
we were not able to be in private practice, so we were hired on a contract
basis.
Treeline: an innovative theapeutic practice
After much soul searching, and an afternoon session with Jeanne's friend
Sheila, we came up with the name Treeline. Soon we had a few clients and
the rest, they say, is history.
